How do I know if the brake needs adjustment and how do I adjust it?

If the tractor requires more than five feet to stop at highest speed in highest gear on a level, dry concrete or paved surface, the brake must be adjusted. With the clutch/brake pedal fully depressed and parking brake engaged, measure the distance between the brake operating arm and nut 'A' on the brake rod — it should be 1-9/16 inches. If not, loosen the jam nut, turn nut 'A' until the correct distance is achieved, then retighten the jam nut. (Page 25)
