Empty the fuel tank by running the engine until the fuel lines and carburetor are empty, as alcohol-blended fuels can form acids during storage that damage the fuel system. Fully charge the battery, and disconnect the battery cables during long storage periods to prevent corrosion and power leakage. Also clean the entire tractor, inspect and replace belts if necessary, lubricate as shown in the maintenance section, and ensure all nuts, bolts, and screws are securely fastened. (Page 29)
