How do I check if the brake needs adjustment, and how do I adjust it?

If the tractor requires more than five feet to stop at highest speed in highest gear on a level, dry concrete or paved surface, the brake must be adjusted. With the parking brake engaged, measure the distance between the brake operating arm and nut 'A' on the brake rod — it should be 1-9/16 inches. If not, loosen the jam nut, turn nut 'A' until the correct distance is achieved, then retighten the jam nut and road test again. (Page 25)
