How do I properly prepare my tractor for winter storage?

Empty the fuel tank by running the engine until the fuel lines and carburetor are empty, or use a fuel stabilizer and run the engine for at least 10 minutes after adding it. Drain the warm engine oil and replace with fresh oil, remove the spark plugs and pour one ounce of oil into each cylinder, then install new spark plugs. Fully charge the battery, disconnect the cables for long-term storage, and cover the tractor with a breathable cover — do not use plastic. (Page 29)
