How do I start the engine for the first time or after it has run out of fuel?

When starting for the first time or after running out of fuel, it will take extra cranking time to move fuel from the tank to the engine. Sit in the seat, depress the clutch/brake pedal, set the parking brake, place the motion control lever in neutral, disengage the attachment clutch, move the throttle to fast, and pull the choke out for a cold start. Insert the key and turn clockwise to start, releasing as soon as the engine starts, and do not run the starter continuously for more than fifteen seconds per minute. (Page 14)
