What should I do before starting the engine for the first time?

Before starting, ensure the freewheel control is in the transmission engaged position, sit on the seat in operating position with the clutch/brake pedal depressed and parking brake set, place the motion control lever in neutral, move the attachment clutch to disengaged position, and move the throttle control to fast position. Check that the engine oil level is correct and the fuel tank is filled with fresh, regular unleaded gasoline. (Page 14)
