What type of oil should I use in my Craftsman 917.275702 lawn tractor?

Use SAE 30 oil (above 32°F) or SAE 5W-30 (below 32°F), rated with API service classification SG-SL. The oil capacity is 4.0 pints with the filter and 3.75 pints without the filter. Check the crankcase oil level before starting the engine and after each eight hours of operation. (Page 6, Page 18)
