How do I start the engine using the recoil starter?

Make sure the auger control is disengaged, insert the ignition key fully, push the choke lever to the CHOKE position (or RUN if the engine is warm), and press the primer 5–7 times for models CMXGBAM1054538/1054539 or 3 times for models CMXGBAM1054540/CMGSB21179. Then grasp the recoil starter handle, pull slowly until resistance is felt, and then pull with a firm, rapid stroke without letting the handle snap back. (Page 10)
