What should I check before vacuuming to protect my floors?

Before vacuuming your flooring, rugs, and carpets, check the manufacturer's recommended cleaning instructions and ensure the underside of your cleaner head or tool is clean and free from any objects that may cause damage. Be aware that the rotating brush bar can damage certain carpet types—if your carpet fuzzes when using the motorized floor tool, discontinue use and consult with your flooring manufacturer.
