Descale function indicator — excessive mineral build-up has been detected in the machine.
? What Causes This
Calcium and mineral deposits from water have accumulated inside the machine, affecting performance and coffee quality.
✓ How to Fix It
- Follow the descaling process in the Care & Cleaning section.
- Pour approximately 20oz of white vinegar into the water tank until LCD displays '4 CUPS'.
- Fill remainder with cold water until LCD displays '12 CUPS'.
- Press and hold the STRENGTH button for 5 seconds to begin descaling.
- When finished, the LCD will display READY.
- Repeat the rinsing cycle with fresh water until vinegar is gone. Refer to Removing Calcium Build-Up, page 25.
