What is Eco (Energy Saver) mode and how does it work?

Eco mode is the factory default mode and is recommended to help save energy and money. In this mode, the fan continues to run for 3 minutes after the compressor shuts off, then cycles on for 120 seconds at 10-minute intervals until the room temperature rises above the set temperature, at which point the compressor turns back on. If the unit is shut off while in Cool or Fan Only mode, it will return to Eco mode the next time it is powered on, as required by government regulations. (Page 16)
