What should I do with my refrigerator if I'm going on a long vacation?

If you will be gone one month or more, remove all food and ice, unplug the appliance, and clean the interior thoroughly. Leave both doors open to prevent odors and mold buildup, blocking the doors open if necessary. For vacations of three weeks or less, you can simply leave the appliance operating. (Page 11)
