How do I protect my dishwasher if it will be left in an unheated place during winter?
Have a service technician cut off electrical power to the dishwasher by removing fuses or tripping the circuit breaker, then turn off the water supply and disconnect the water inlet line from the water valve. The technician should drain water from the inlet line and water valve, reconnect the inlet line, then remove the plastic sump cover in the tub bottom and use a sponge to soak up water in the rubber boot. These steps prevent damage from freezing temperatures. (Page 16)
