What is the proper way to load the upper rack?

The upper rack is for glasses, cups and saucers, with cups and glasses fitting best along the sides. It is also a secure place for dishwasher-safe plastics and odd-shaped utensils. Saucepans, mixing bowls and other items should be placed face down, and small plastic items must be secured so they cannot fall onto the heating element.
