How do I install or check the anti-tip device, and why is it important?

The anti-tip device must be installed to the structure and/or the range to prevent the range from tipping forward, which can cause death or serious injury to a child or adult. To verify proper installation, carefully tip the range forward by pulling from the back to ensure the anti-tip bracket engages the range leg — the range should not move more than 1 inch (2.5 cm). The anti-tip device must be re-engaged any time the range is moved. (Page 5)
