How do I properly start the oven for the first time before cooking?

Before first use, remove all accessories and packaging from the cooking compartment and clean the oven cavity with hot soapy water. Then run the oven empty at 500°F for approximately one hour, followed by running the broil setting for about 10 minutes, to burn off manufacturing oils. It is advised that you run your vent hood during this process. (Page 23)
