What coffee-to-water ratio should I use?

For each cup of coffee being made, place one level tablespoon (15 ml) of ground coffee into the filter. Use a good quality cupcake-style basket filter in an 8- to 12-cup size, or you may also use a permanent filter. A permanent gold-tone coffee filter is available as an optional accessory that is dishwasher-safe.
