Why is my filter basket overflowing or coffee brewing slowly?

This can be caused by using too much coffee, coffee ground too finely, the carafe not being securely placed on the keep-hot plate, or the coffee maker needing cleaning. Other causes include coffee grounds between the paper filter and filter basket, or a paper filter that is not open and properly positioned. Using a poor quality paper filter can also cause overflow.
