Why isn't my heating or cooling system responding to the thermostat?

Ensure the system switch is set to Heat or Cool as appropriate for your needs, and set the temperature higher than the current room temperature for heating or lower for cooling. Allow 5 minutes for the system to respond. If the system still doesn't respond, check that the compressor protection feature isn't engaged (indicated by flashing 'Heat On' or 'Cool On').
