How does the Auto Changeover feature work on the TH5110D?

When the system is set to Auto, the thermostat automatically selects heating or cooling depending on the indoor temperature. The heat and cool settings must always be at least 3 degrees apart, and the thermostat will automatically adjust to maintain this fixed 3-degree separation, known as the 'deadband.' (Page 8)
