What is the Auto Changeover feature and how does it work?

Auto Changeover is a feature for climates where both heating and air conditioning may be needed on the same day. When the system is set to Auto, the thermostat automatically selects heating or cooling based on the indoor temperature. The heat and cool settings must remain at least 3 degrees apart, and this fixed separation (called 'deadband') cannot be changed. (Page 8)
