What is the Auto Changeover feature and how does it work?

Auto Changeover is used in climates where both air conditioning and heating are used on the same day. When set to Auto, the thermostat automatically selects heating or cooling based on indoor temperature. Heat and cool settings must be at least 3 degrees apart, and the thermostat automatically maintains this 3-degree separation. (Page 2)
