How far should I keep the thermostat wiring away from other electrical components?

Keep wiring and controllers at least six feet away from large inductive loads such as power distribution panels, lighting ballasts, and motors. Never place 24VAC or communications wiring near bare power wires, lightning rods, antennas, transformers, or steam/hot water pipes. (Page 4)
