What should I do before removing or replacing internal components?

Before removing or installing internal components, shut down the computer completely, disconnect all external devices, and disconnect the power by unplugging both the power cord from the AC outlet and the AC adapter from the computer. If unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn it on and shut it down through the operating system. (Page 25)
