What precautions should I take when handling toner cartridges?

Do not expose the toner cartridge to light for more than a few minutes; if it must be removed for an extended period, place it in the original plastic packaging or cover it with a lightweight opaque item. Do not touch the imaging drum on the bottom of the cartridge, as fingerprints can cause print-quality problems. If toner gets on clothing, wipe it off with a dry cloth and wash the clothes in cold water, as hot water sets toner into fabric. (Pages 28–31)
