What are the disadvantages of using a USB connection instead of a network connection?
A USB connection has several disadvantages: the cable is of limited length (3 m maximum), it is more difficult to share the printer, you cannot use Web Services, and you cannot use automatic firmware updates. Network connections are recommended for shared printer access.
