Yes, you can use the printer wirelessly without a router using Wi-Fi Direct. Make sure Wi-Fi Direct is enabled by checking the status in the Dashboard and then touching the Wi-Fi icon. By default, Wi-Fi Direct is in Automatic mode without an administrator password, allowing anyone in wireless range to connect. If you want higher security, HP recommends changing the Wi-Fi Direct Connection Method from Automatic to Manual and establishing an administrator password.
