How do I clean the scanner glass to improve scan quality?

First, turn off the product and unplug the power cord. Open the scanner lid and clean the scanner glass and white plastic backing with a soft cloth or sponge moistened with nonabrasive glass cleaner. Then dry the glass and white plastic with a chamois or cellulose sponge to prevent spotting, and plug the product back in.
