What should I do if my computer is connected via Ethernet and the HP Smart software cannot find my printer during setup?
You need to turn on your computer's Wi-Fi while setting up the printer, even if it is connected by Ethernet. Temporarily disconnect the Ethernet cable to complete setup over Wi-Fi. (Page 3)
