How do I scan a document using HP Scan software on Windows?

Double-click the HP Scan icon on your computer desktop, select a scanning shortcut, and adjust settings as needed before clicking Scan. You can click Advanced Settings to access more options or click Create New Shortcut to create a custom set of settings and save it to the shortcut list. (Page 9)
