How do I test whether my Ethernet network connection is working properly?
On Windows, click Start > Run, type 'cmd', press Enter, then type 'ping' followed by a space and the printer's IP address (e.g., 192.168.0.1) and press Enter. On OS X, open Network Utility and type the IP address in the ping pane. If round-trip times are displayed, the network is working; if ping fails, restart the printer and recheck all connection steps.
