How do I configure the product to work with an answering machine?

Go to Setup > Fax Setup > Fax Recv. Setup > Rings to Answer, and set the product's rings-to-answer to at least one ring more than the number of rings set on the answering machine. Then go to Answer Mode and select TAM; with this setting, the product listens for fax tones after the answering machine picks up and will take over the call if fax tones are detected. (Page 46)
