Connect the telephone cable to the fax 'line in' port on the back of the product and to the wall telephone jack. You must then configure the fax time, date, and header settings — which are required to use the fax feature — either through the product control panel (Setup > System Setup > Time/Date, then Setup > Fax Setup > Fax Header) or via the HP Fax Setup Wizard on Windows.
