What is the difference between Cartridge Policy and Cartridge Protection?

Cartridge Policy protects the printer from counterfeit toner cartridges by allowing only genuine HP cartridges to be used. Cartridge Protection permanently associates toner cartridges with a specific printer so they cannot be used in other printers, protecting your investment in cartridges. Both features are off by default. (Page 35)
