What steps should I follow if HP printer software installation fails?
Remove the CD from the drive and disconnect the printer from the computer, then restart the computer. Temporarily disable any software firewall and close any anti-virus software before re-inserting the software CD and following the on-screen instructions. Do not connect the USB cable until prompted, and restart the computer along with any security software after installation finishes. (Page 3)
