For closet installation, the dryer requires minimum clearances of 3 inches on the side and back, with 48 square inches minimum ventilation area at the front. The closet door must have minimum air openings in the top and bottom totaling at least 10 square inches, or louvered doors with equivalent air openings are acceptable.
