My dishwasher is not draining properly — what should I check?

Check the drain air gap, which is usually located on top of the sink or countertop near the dishwasher, as it may be clogged with soil buildup. To clean it, lift off the chrome cover, unscrew the plastic cap, and clean any soil buildup present. Also verify that the cycle is fully complete and that the overfill protection float can move freely up and down. (Page 17)
