How do I properly remove and replace plug-in surface units for cleaning?

Lift a plug-in unit about 1 inch above the drip pan—just enough to grasp it—and pull it out. Do not lift more than 1 inch as this can permanently damage the receptacle. To replace, place the drip pan back in the cavity, insert the unit's terminals through the opening in the drip pan into the receptacle, and guide the unit into place so it fits evenly. (Page 25)
