How do I change the batteries in the remote control?

Push out the cover on the back of the remote control with your thumb, then insert two new AAA 1.5V batteries while paying attention to polarity, and reattach the cover. Do not use rechargeable batteries, and make sure both batteries are new. To prevent discharge, remove the batteries if the air conditioner will not be used for an extended period of time. (Page 10)
