What does the OE error code mean and how do I fix it?

The OE error code indicates a drainage problem. Possible causes include a clogged, kinked, or pinched drain hose; the drain hose being connected to the disposal without removing the knockout plug; or a clogged waste tee or disposal. To fix it, feed the drain hose through the hole under the sink and gradually slide the dishwasher into the cabinet while pulling on the hose to take up slack, or remove the knockout plug from the disposal.
