How do I clean the interior of my Maytag dishwasher?

Monthly use of affresh® Dishwasher Cleaner is recommended to remove white residue left by detergents. Place one tablet in the detergent dispenser (without dishes) or in the bottom of the tub (with dishes), then run a Normal wash cycle. As an alternative, you can place 2 cups (500 mL) of white vinegar in a dishwasher-safe container on the bottom rack and run a complete cycle without detergent, though vinegar should not be used too frequently as it is an acid that could damage the dishwasher.
