Why is my Maytag dryer taking too long to dry clothes?

The most common causes are a clogged lint screen, a blocked exhaust vent, or an oversized load. Run the dryer for 5-10 minutes and hold your hand under the outside exhaust hood to check for air movement — if you feel none, clean the exhaust system or replace the vent with heavy metal material. Also check that the exhaust vent uses 4" (102 mm) diameter material and is not too long or has too many turns. (Page 9)
