How do I winterize or store my Maytag washer if it will be in a freezing environment?

To winterize the washer, shut off both water faucets and disconnect and drain the water inlet hoses. Then pour 1 quart (1 L) of R.V.-type antifreeze into the washer drum and run the washer on the NORMAL cycle for about 2 minutes to mix the antifreeze with remaining water, then unplug the washer. This is necessary because some water may remain in the hoses and freezing can damage the washer.
