How do I check and replace the torch consumables (tip, electrode, and shield cup)?

Turn off power before checking torch parts. Remove and inspect the shield cup for cracks. Remove and check the tip, replacing it if the opening is deformed or 50% oversize; clean the inside with steel wool if it is not clean and bright. Check the electrode, and if the center has a pit more than 1/16 inch (2 mm) deep, remove and replace it. Also remove and check the swirl ring and O-ring for damage. A good practice is to replace both the tip and electrode at the same time. (Page 29)
