What should I do if a refrigerant leak occurs — do I need to replace all the refrigerant?

If refrigerant leaks out, it may be replenished without replacing the entire refrigerant charge. Charge the replacement refrigerant in the liquid state. For detailed procedures, refer to section 8-14, Measures for Refrigerant Leakage, on page 311 of the service manual. (Page 14)
