How should I properly connect the power cord to avoid fire hazards?

Connect the power plug in the proper position with the cord hanging down. Never connect the power plug upside down, as this can cut the wire and cause a fire or electric shock. Always grip the plug firmly and pull straight out from the outlet when unplugging; never pull on the cord itself. (Page 3)
