How do I clean the mesh filter of the water hose?

Turn off the washing machine and unplug the power cord, close the water tap, then loosen and disconnect the water hose from the back of the machine. Use pliers to pull out the mesh filter from the inlet valve, submerge it deeply in water so the threaded connector is also submerged, dry it completely in the shade, then reinsert it and reconnect the hose.
