How do I raise the bobbin thread on my Singer Model 1120?

Hold the upper thread with your left hand and turn the handwheel (1) towards you (counterclockwise), lowering then raising the needle. Gently pull on the upper thread to bring the bobbin thread up through the needle plate hole (2). Then lay both threads to the back under the presser foot (3).
