Can I use just one Dot 3I earbud at a time?

Yes, the Dot 3I supports mono mode — when Bluetooth is connected, you can use either one of the earbuds by placing the other one into the charging case. Additionally, if one earbud runs out of battery and powers off, you can keep using the other one. (Page 5)
