How do I empty the machine if I won't be using it for an extended period?

For hygiene reasons, remove water from the machine's pipe system by holding down the power button and the caffè crema button for approximately 5 seconds until you hear 2 beeps. Remove the water tank, and the machine will pump out remaining water. The machine will automatically switch to standby mode when finished.
